Calvin C. Marlor, Sr.

Boiling Springs, SC Calvin C. Marlor, Sr, 89, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at his home. A native of Marshall, NC, he moved to Asheville on August 21, 1962 where he resided until moving to SC in October 2010. He retired in 1990 from Beacon Mfg Co after 14 years of service, was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Marlor was a son of the late Hobert H. Marler and Annie Elizabeth Treadway Marler. He was also preceded in death by his three sisters, Betty Lou Farmer, Virginia Leake and Kella Mae Norton. Surviving are his wife whom he married October 5, 1974, Harriett Stamper Marlor of the home; children, Calvin C. Marlor, Jr. and wife Virginia of Houghton, LA, Donna Renee Marlor of Forest City and Keith Wesley Marlor and wife Linda of Greenville, SC and their mother, Jewell Taylor of Candler; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren and brother, Jimmy Eugene Marler of Fairview. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Friday, November 4, 2016 at Trinity Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Allen Rash and Rev. Dr. Ralph Sexton, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Spartanburg, SC. The family will receive friends from 11 to 1 PM Friday at the chapel.
