Burch Suthard

June 1, 1927 — October 16, 2022

Asheville – Burch Victoria Lowe Suthard, 95, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Stonecreek Health and Rehabilitation Center.


A native of Chatham County, GA, Mrs. Suthard had resided in Buncombe County for most of her life. She retired from the shipping and receiving department of Taylor Instruments and was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late William and Katie Kessler Lowe, and the wife of Henry Ivan Suthard, who passed away November 11, 2009. Mrs. Suthard was also preceded in death by her brother, Billy Lowe, and sisters: Jane Lovelace and Althea Brooks.


Surviving are her children: David Payne, Katie Cutshall, and Jonathan Suthard; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; ten great, great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.


Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 25, 2022 in the chapel of Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, with the Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating.
