Bruce W. Macwilliam

Bruce W. MacWilliam, 97, went to be with his Lord on Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Brian Center of Weaverville. Born in Saskatchewan, Canada, on February 17, 1919 he was the son of the late James Alexander and Agnes Wallace MacWilliam. He was also preceded in death by six brothers and sisters. Mr. MacWilliam was a member of Newfound Baptist Church as well as Gideons International. Surviving are his wife of 73 years, Virginia MacWilliam; son, Greg MacWilliam and wife Patricia; two grandchildren: Brian and Jennifer; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 21, 2016, at Newfound Baptist Church, with Pastor Jeff Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services on Thursday at the church. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the MacWilliam family.
