Fairview - Norman Bruce Davis, 65, of 1957 Charlotte Highway died Friday, October 18, 2002 at St. Josephs Hospital. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. Mr. Davis was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War and was a son of the late Norman Vance Davis and Beulah Estelle Williams Davis. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Sandy Davis formerly of Candler. He retired in 1999 after 32 years of service with Terminix Service, Inc. where at the time of his retirement he was an Assistant Regional Manager. Mr. Davis was a member of the Racking Horse Breeders Association of America and was of the Methodist Faith. Surviving are his dear friend, Betty Cameron of Fairview; sisters, Barbara Jones and husband, Bill of Liberty, S.C., Mickey Shultz and husband, Paul of Asheville and Patti Harris and husband, Ron of Hendersonville; brothers, Gene Davis and wife, Ruth of Greer, S.C. and Ernest Davis and wife, Annie of Sharpsburg, Georgia and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Reynolds Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Smith officiating. Burial will be in Gashes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Toney, Terry Davis, Mike Morris, Tony Jones, Brian Davis, Brice Davis, Vince Carter, Randall Ray, Rick Arnette and Rod Kuykendall. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Asheville-Buncombe Community Christian Ministry, 24 Cumberland Ave., Asheville, N.C. 28801.
