Asheville - Brian Alexander (Boogie) Rogers, 40 years old of 140 Ramsey Road, passed away November 17, 2011. He was a 1990 graduate of Erwin High School and was employed by Hess Construction. Brian is survived by his mother Edna Woody Emberton of Bryson City and stepfather Charles Emberton of Kansas, father, Calvin Rogers (Betty Jean North) of Asheville, brothers, Billy Jeffrey Rogers of Bryson City and Michael Lee Rogers (Claudia Wheeler) of Weaverville, half-sisters, Shaundau and Kelly Rogers. Also surviving him are, Savannah Dawn Hensley and Briana Charlene Ray both of whom Brian loved and thought of as his daughters and more friends and extended family than one can only hope for. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Worth and Helen Woody, paternal grandparents, Thomas and Allie Rogers. Also preceding Brian was his brother, Tim who passed November 8, 2011 and special uncle, Wayne Woody. Boogie was an outdoorsman and enjoyed being close to nature and its creatures. He was a fisherman and hunter. Many happy hours were spent with his dogs and uncle Wayne working the farm and messin' with cows. The family will receive friends Monday, November 21st from 6 to 8 PM at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. No services are planned. At other times the family will be at the home of his brother Mike, 919 Reems Creek Road, Weaverville, NC. Stop by and let's celebrate Boogie's life. Rest easy Boog, you will be missed...
