Brenda Causby Young

Swannanoa Brenda Gayle Causby Young, 73, of 101 Pine Tree Drive, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 29, 2017 at her residence. A native of Morganton, NC, she was a full time resident of Buncombe County for the past 14 years. She retired as an executive secretary and was a member of Christian Creek Baptist Church and a member of the Little Ole Ladies Bible Study Group and Suzy Evans-teacher. She was a 1962 graduate of Salem High School in Morganton and attended Gardner Webb College. Mrs. Young was a daughter of the late James Preston Causby and Atwood Elizabeth Williams Causby and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Young and grandchildren, Jessica Holcombe and Chad Wade and a sister and four brothers. Surviving are her husband whom she married June 4, 1983, Donald Edward Young of the home; children, Tami Boyett of Springdale, AR, Dawn Weir of Memphis, TN, Amber Banks of Asheville and Amanda Hill of Fletcher; grandchildren, Jorden Holcombe, Timothy Lowery, Kayla Hill and Caleb Hill; sisters, Frances Snyder of Asheville and Julia Smith of Fairfax, VA; brother, Nolan Causby of Morganton; several nieces and nephews and her baby, Sophie. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday, January 2, 2018 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Young officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery.
