Boyd Henry Stephens

Asheville Boyd Henry Stephens, 71, of 19 Tanglewood Drive, went to be with his Lord Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Swain County, he had resided in Buncombe County most of his life. He retired in 2007 from Borg-Warner Mfg. and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Mr. Stephens was the son of the late Joseph Stephens and Sarah Bailey Stephens Light. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Marie Beachboard Stephens, who passed away in 2006; and a sister, Annette Owenby. Surviving are his son, Joseph Edward Stephens and wife Sue of Asheville; daughter, Lisa Connor and husband Neal of Asheville; two grandsons: Aaron and Andrew Stephens; granddaughter: Sierra Connor; sister-in-law, Nina Rachel of California; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday at Green Hills Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Ralph Sexton, Jr. and Rev. Allen Rash officiating. The family will receive friends following the services at the cemetery.
