Bonnie Reese

Fairview – Bonnie Leota Metcalf Reese, 92, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021 at the Care Partners Hospice John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Yancey County, Mrs. Reese had resided in Buncombe County since 1966. The oldest of 12 siblings, Mrs. Reese was a sweet, kind, loving sister. Her smile was contagious, and her laughter would make any heart melt. She was loved by all who met her. Mrs. Reese retired following 20 years of service from Welch-Allyn Medical Equipment Company. She was a member of Skyland Baptist Church. Mrs. Reese was the daughter of the late Lark Jahue and Nina Lanette Abernethy Metcalf, and the wife of Clyde Ray Reese, who passed away December 30, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her brothers: Tommy, Paul, Charles, Edward, and Larry Metcalf; and sister, Edith Metcalf. Surviving are her sisters: Ruby Arrington, Robbie Banks, and Carolyn Mease; brothers, Rev. Benny Metcalf and Robert Metcalf; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, August 6, 2021 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ty Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Friday at the church. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting Mrs. Reese with arrangements.
