Asheville - Bonnie (Peggy) Jane Flack, 86, of Asheville, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at The Laurels of GreenTree Ridge following a long period of declining health. A native of Buncombe County, Bonnie enjoyed over 63 years of marriage to the late Max Flack. She spent several enjoyable years traveling the United States while Max was active in the Navy. She was a retired Toms Snackfood contractor and a past Worthy Matron in the Eastern Star. Friends and family will remember her for her quick wit and ever present smile. Bonnie was the daughter of the late Ernest Norton and Ada Freeman Norton McDevitt. Bonnie was preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy and Bud Norton. Surviving are sons: Phillip Flack and wife Nancy of Asheville and Joseph Flack and wife Tami of Clute, Texas; three grandchildren: Alex Flack of Asheville, Jessica Flack Thuillez and Tyler Flack, both of Texas; sister, Betty Ensley of Asheville; and brother, James Norton of Florida. Memorial services will be held at 11am Saturday, August 13th in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Thurman officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, it was Bonnies wish that donations be made to the Shriners Childrens Hospital, 950 West Farris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
