Bonnie Evelyn Webb

Asheville Bonnie Evelyn Messer Webb, 90, formerly of Old Leicester Highway, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010 at the Laurels of Greentree Ridge. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Webb had resided in Buncombe County for the past 64 years. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed activities such as gardening and sewing. Mrs. Webb was the daughter of the late Harrison and Mezura Gentry Messer. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Garland Messer and Lige F. Messer. Surviving are her husband, Cosley E. Webb, whom she met at the Washington, DC USO Club while working for the telephone company during World War II; daughter, Dianne Estes and husband Barry; grandson, Dennis Owenby and wife Amy; great-grandsons: Liam and Oliver Owenby; brother, John Robert Messer; niece, Nancy Messer; nephew, Johnny Messer and wife Lois; two great-nephews and two great, great-nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Monday at the funeral home.
