Bobby Gene Jones

Asheville – Bobby Gene Jones, 64, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 20, 2022, at his residence. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of Patricia Ann Carver of Gastonia and the late Eugene Jones. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Scott Jones; and sisters: Angela Mullins, and Terry Humphrey. Bob worked for Wilson Art for many years and was a longtime member of God’s Filling Station Church. Bob was one of a kind, the absolute best. He was always the life of the party. His life was met with many hardships, but oh, so many blessings from God. You would have never known, when he had a bad day, he never stopped smiling and cracking jokes. He was a fighter, who never gave up. Always pushing on, to the next laugh. If you saw him chances are you heard some good old southern rock music and were met with his big smile. His family was his happy place. We were blessed immeasurably, with him. To know Bob was to be blessed. Surviving are his loving wife, Brenda Helton Jones; daughter, Kelly Brockwell and husband Tim of Candler; son, Curtis Jones and wife Ashlee Ross of Leicester; grandchildren: Dylan Brockwell, Madison Brockwell, and Brooklyn Jones; brother, Curtis Jones of Gastonia; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 23, 2022, in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Brockwell officiating. Burial will follow at the Burleson Family Cemetery in Barnardsville. The family will receive friends from 1 till 2 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
