Asheville - Robert Noah “Bob” Haney, Jr., “The Great Bob Haney”, age 66, went home to be with our Lord Thursday, April 29, 2021 following a valiant battle with cancer. Bobby was born in Waynesville, NC on March 4, 1955 to Robert and Rose Marie Haney, and was a graduate of Erwin High School. He loved to travel, Dunkin Donuts, casinos, his job at Ingles, and so much more. He will always be remembered as a loving brother, uncle and friend. In addition to his parents, Bobby was also preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth “Lisa” Penley Haney, and brother, Michael Bruce Haney. Surviving are his sister, Joyce Haney Davis of Asheville; brother, Jeff Haney and wife Michelle of Asheville; sister-in-law, Penny Haney of Asheville; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with the Rev. Jackie Collins officiating. The family would like to offer a heartfelt “Thank You” to the physicians and staff of Four Seasons Hospice for the care Bobby received from them. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Four Seasons Hospice Angel Fund, 211 North Main Street, Hendersonville, NC 28792, or at www.fourseasonsfdn.org. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting Bobby’s family.
