Billy Redmon

Asheville Billy Lewis Redmon, 73, of 39 Webb Cove Road, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he retired from Southern Concrete as a Truck Driver for over 30 years; had served with the Beaverdam Volunteer Fire Department as a Firefighter and EMT for over 40 years where he had served as Chief in the 1990s and he attended Averys Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Redmon was a son of Rose Smith Redmon and the late Arthur Eugene Redmon and was also preceded in death by his daughter, Rosemary Gail Redmon. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife whom he married October 25, 1963, Billie Gail Gosnell Redmon of the home; daughters, Connie Valle (Juan) and Tracey Parker (Thomas) all of Asheville; grandchildren, Heather (Brandon), Hayleigh, Kiah, Juan, Noah, Hannah, Gabi, Matt, Nadia and Aidan; sister, Cricket Shelton (Clifford) of Asheville and brother, Eugene Redmon (Treva) of Candler and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, December 19, 2015 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Fox and Dr. Ed Houser officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Friday at the funeral home.
