Billy Joe Debruhl

Asheville – Billy Joe DeBruhl, 81, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Joe Payne DeBruhl and Jewel Evelyn Brown DeBruhl. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Larry Jimmy DeBruhl. Mr. DeBruhl served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from public service with the gas company and then worked in gas distribution until retirement from SEC at the age of 79. Surviving are his children: Theresa DeBruhl Temple and husband Herman, Jerry DeLaine DeBruhl and wife Lisa, Keith Alan DeBruhl, Bryan Joe DeBruhl and wife Sherri, and Billy Wayne DeBruhl and wife Sue; grandchildren: Megan T. Brown and husband Chris, Emily Temple, Hunter DeBruhl, Benjamin DeBruhl, Katie DeBruhl, Scott DeBruhl and partner Mary, Taylor Mollicone and husband Vinnie, Lauren D. Shaw and husband Damian, and Mariah DeBruhl; and great-grandchildren: Josiah, Nathaniel, Chloe, and Greyson. A private graveside service will be held with his granddaughter, Megan Brown officiating.
