Billie Burke Wilson

Asheville - Billie Burke Ingle Wilson, 88, of The Laurels of Greentree Ridge, formerly of 45 Ridgelawn Road, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, September 18, 2004 at Memorial Mission hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. A loving and devoted mother, wife, sister, aunt and daughter, Billie touched the hearts of everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and neighbors. Billie was the daughter of the late Lonnie D. and Grace Roberts Ingle, and the wife of Robert Lee Wilson, who passed away in 1971. She was also preceded in death by a son, Richard C. Wilson, and two brothers: L.D. and Preston Ingle. Surviving are her children: Robert Lee Wilson, Jr. and wife Billie H. Wilson of Fort Mill, SC, Joy Thylander of Waynesville, James B. Wilson and wife Catherine Wilson of Fort Mill, SC, and Judy Dawkins and husband Johnnie Dawkins of Arden; seven grandchildren: James B. Wilson, Jr, David Wilson, Kelly Wilson, Britt Dawkins, Travis Cook, Heather Wilson, and Blair Cook Wright; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Buddy Corbin officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. The family would like to express a special Thank You to the staff at The Laurels Of Greentree Ridge for the excellent medical care and kindness shown to Billie during the past three years.
