Asheville William Calvin Bill Pressley, 95, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the Pisgah Manor Health Care Center. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he retired from Bills Barber Shop in West Asheville following 48 years of service. He was a member of Halls Chapel Baptist Church in Yancey County, was a member the V.F.W. Post #891 and served in the US Army Paratroopers during World War II. Mr. Pressley was the son of the late Walter Urie and Alma Victoria Harrell Pressley and husband of Ruth Mae Phillips Pressley who died February 10, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Ryan Pressley, one sister and seven brothers. Surviving are his daughter, Vickie Renee Frizzell and husband Danny of Mills River; sons, Johnny Randolph Pressley and wife Nancy of Gulfport, MS and Hank Martin Pressley and wife Debra of Matthews; granddaughters, Amanda Pressley Gaddy and husband Tim and Megan Frizzell and fianc Garrett Holbrook; grandsons, Justin Frizzell and wife Victoria and Taylor Frizzell and fiance Kyndle Bradley and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Monday, August 29, 2016 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Tietje officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah View Memorial Park with the NC National Guard providing military honors. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
