Asheville Beva Clontz Lusk, 89, a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed, died Monday, February 18, 2008 at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center. Mrs. Lusk was born May 26, 1918 in McDowell County and was the daughter of the late William Lee Clontz and Bertha Clay Parker Clontz. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William J. Lusk, brothers, Arthur, Albert and George Clontz and sisters, Willie Mae Hennessee and Grace Jones. She was a member of Foster Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Asheville. Mrs. Lusk was formerly employed with Marion Manufacturing in Marion for 22 years, worked at the V.A. Medical Center in Asheville and for the late Dr. Carol Jean Smith. Before her retirement in 2000 she was owner & operator of Lusk Apartments & Rooms at 100 Biltmore Avenue and 25 South French Broad Avenue, Asheville. She is survived by her daughter, Sue Rhodes and husband, Russell of Woodfin; sons, Jack D. Lusk of the Laurels of Summit Ridge, Oteen and Carl Lee Lusk of Shallotte; four grandchildren, W.D. Lusk, Robert Bryan Rhodes, Rachel Lusk Cook and Louis Lee Lusk; five great grandchildren and sister, Sue Reynolds and husband, Harold of Nebo. Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Pastor Bryan Aalborg officiating. Burial will be held in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory at a later date. The family will receive friends immediately following services at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank Pisgah Manor Health Care Center and Care-Partners Hospice for their kind and most gracious, loving care.
