Betty Orr Trexler

Candler - Betty Orr Trexler, 81, of 92 Young Drive, died Sunday April 14, 2002 following a period of declining health. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She retired in May of 1975 from the National Weather Bureau of Asheville, was a longtime member of Westwood Baptist Church and was a 1939 graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School. She was the daughter of the late James Dillard and Channa Brown Orr. She was also preceded in death by her son, Joel E. Trexler and her brother, J.D. Orr, Jr. Surviving are her husband, Jack Wesley Trexler, Sr. of the home; daughter, Sandra Trexler Levi of Brevard; son, Jack W. Trexler, Jr. of Kingsport, TN; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Travis Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 Tuesday at the funeral home and at other times will be at the residence.
