Betty J. Edwards

Asheville - Betty Jean Shelton Mamaw Edwards, 66 passed away Saturday June 12, 2010 after an extended illness. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late William Paul and Nellie Wyatt Shelton. Surviving are her husband Wade Arnold Edwards; sons, Wade Edwards Jr. and wife Debra, Alvin Edwards all of Candler; daughters, Christina Wykle and husband Charles of Bryson City and Wanda Carter and husband Neal of Candler; grandsons, Garrett, Wyatt and Tristan Carter, Adam and Matthew Gresham, Alvin Edwards Jr., Wade Edwards III, Chris Edwards and fianc Tieghan; Granddaughter Kelly Edwards; great granddaughter, Danniella Edwards; brothers, Troy, Jay, Brownie and Jamie Shelton and sister, Christine Brown. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Daryl Overton officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
