Bettie Bradley Cobb

Weaverville - Bettie Bradley Cobb, born March 13, 1925, passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 14, 2010. Ms. Cobb resided most of her life in Buncombe County, and retired in 1989 from BellSouth in Charlotte. She enjoyed her retirement near her children in Weaverville. She was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church. Ms. Cobb was the daughter of the late Pearl Tipton Gunter and William Tipton. She was also preceded in death by George Estes Bradley, husband and father of their four daughters; her second husband, Lloyd Cobb; and a brother, June Tipton. Surviving are her daughters: Geraldine Cole (Roy) of Weaverville, Maxine Penley of Weaverville, Lorraine Clemmons (Ronnie) of Raleigh, and Colleen Austin (Jerry) of Marco Island, FL; seven loving grandchildren: Bobby, Tina, Jackie, Tammie, Ben, Julie and Jennifer; ten great-grandchildren, three great-great grandsons, and three sisters: Bonnie Swann and Jean Aimone, both of Black Mountain, and Cora Burrell of Leicester. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bobby Leighton officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home. Her family is honored and blessed to call this wonderful lady Mother. Her beauty, strength, and trust in God prevails.
