Bessie Shelton Thomas

Asheville - Bessie Shelton Thomas, 100, of 303 Hi-Alta Ave. died Thursday, June 6, 2002 at Mountain Area Hospice Solace Center. A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Dan and Martha Treadway Shelton and was the wife of the late Cas Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her son, Wayron D. Thomas. Surviving are her children, Inez McCoy of Leicester, Malone Thomas of Robbinsville, J.C. Thomas of Arden, Alma Thomas Plemmons of Asheville, Lonnie Thomas of Robbinsville, and Nick Thomas of Skyland; 22 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, a number of great great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with the Rev. Ricky Thomas officiating.
