Ben Richard Taylor

Asheville - Ben Richard Taylor, 89, of Chestnut Terrace died Wednesday October 10, 2001 at his home. He was a good husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, and a special friend to others. He was a faithful member of Sweeten Creek Free Will Baptist Church where he was former Deacon, usher, and janitor for many years. He was retired from McLean Trucking and he enjoyed visiting with people. Mr. Taylor was born in Buncombe County to the late Latt and Laura Bass Taylor. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nannie Taylor, and three children, Jimmy, Jerry, and Barbara. Surviving are his sons, Charles Jack and Don Taylor; daughters; Pat Taylor, Paulette Robinson, Mary Frances Hensley, and Margaret Nelon; 21 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Stroupe officiating. Burial will be in Gashes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 PM Friday at the funeral home
