Ben Rice

Woodfin Ben Buster Rice, 77, passed away Monday, August 27, 2012. Mr. Rice was a native of Mitchell County and had resided in Buncombe County for most of his life. He was a carpenter and formerly employed with Price-Ray Construction Company and D. Michael Ward Constructors. He was a member of Elk Mountain Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a son of the late Fred William Rice and Ruth Berry Rice and the husband of Mary Elizabeth Conley Rice who died March 9, 2009. Surviving are his two sons, Benny and Roy and granddaughter, Natalie. Graveside services will be held 2 PM Friday, August 31, 2012 at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends 5 to 8 PM Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
