Barbara Louise Murphy

Asheville - Barbara Louise Jones Murphy, 62, of 660 North Louisiana Avenue, Lot #12, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003 following a period of declining health. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late James Wesley and Willie Kate Rice Jones and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd and Mark Jones. Surviving are her husband, Charlie Murphy of the home; daughter, Teresa Louise Murphy of the home; sons, Charlie Murphy, Jr. and wife Detria of Asheville and Randy Murphy of the home; brothers, Charles, Jim, Ronnie, Gerald and Larry Jones; sister, Geraldine Austin; grandchildren, Frankie Murphy, Eric Murphy and Amber Ball and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. Betty Drake and Vince Keith officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M. Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
