Barbara J. Parham

Asheville Barbara Joanne Roberts Parham, 70, affectionately known as Nana of 926 New Leicester Highway went to be with her Lord on Friday, September 30, 2011. She was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County, a homemaker and an avid Atlanta Braves fan. She was the daughter of the late Woodfin L. Roberts and Lottie Calloway Roberts and the wife of Robert Junior Parham who died November 15, 1998. Surviving are her children, Kathy Cassada and husband Norman of Asheville; Ricky Swilling and wife Lucy of Aiken, SC, Michael Swilling and wife Patricia and Randy Swilling and wife Denise all of Asheville; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday at the New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Olivette Road with Rev. Betty Drake officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
