Barbara Evelyn Craig

Black Mtn. - Barbara Evelyn Craig, 60, of 31 Chestnut Hill Rd. was called Home to be with Jesus on Sunday, February 16, 2003 at Mission St. Josephs Health System after a long illness. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a member of Freedom Baptist Church, Black Mtn. Mrs. Craig was the daughter of the late Thomas Nelson and Dovie Loftin Pack , Sr. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Theodore Pack and sister, Dorothy Duckett. Surviving are her husband, Samuel Craig of the home; daughter, Patricia Ball and husband Leonard of the home; grandchildren, Deborah Walker and husband Jim, Marsha, David, and William Ball all of the home; sisters, Kathy Justice and husband Danny of Black Mtn., Brenda Anderson of Arden, and Helen Moore of Old Fort; brothers, Troy , James and Tommy Pack all of Old Fort, and Johnny Pack of Black Mtn.; nieces, Linda Riddle and husband Joey, Loretta French and husband, Tony, and Nicole Dockery, whom she was very close to, and numerous other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Ernest Craig and Norris Wright officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 PM Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
