Babe Davis

Candler Roland Grant Babe Davis, 75, of Eye View Road, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Buncombe County, he retired in 1999 with American Enka Corp following 41 years of service and was a member of Acton United Methodist Church. He was a loving husband and father who will be greatly missed. Mr. Davis was a son of Mary Rose Bassett Davis of Candler and the late William Blake Davis and the husband of Angelee Cora Ball Davis who died June 19, 2011. Surviving in addition to his mother are his children, Gary Roland Davis, Rhonda Davis Harris and Tracy Davis Ledford and husband Barry and son-in-law, Dwayne William Harris all of Candler; grandchildren, Joshua Adam Harris, Leslie Davis Payne and husband Ricky and Michael Dwayne Harris; great grandchildren, Abbie Price, Tessa Payne, Taegan Payne; sisters, Linda Vinson, Deanna Brame and Betty Jane Webb; brothers, Blake Davis and Earl Davis and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, April 23, 2015 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Sprinkle officiating. Burial will follow in Price Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Danny, Heidi and Lori and the rest of the staff at John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center for their love and care given to our Dad during this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help with expenses.
