Auburn Roland

Asheville - Auburn Roland, 98, of 511 Onteora Blvd., passed away Sunday, March 27, 2005 at St. Joseph Hospital after a period of declining health. A native of Yancey County, he had resided most of his life in Buncombe County. He retired from Sayles Bleachery, and was a longtime member of Biltmore Church of God. He was the son of the late Jasper and Minnie Angel Roland, and the husband of Louise Anders Roland, who passed away September 20, 2003. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Marie Roland. Surviving are his sons, Larry Roland of Asheville, and J.L. Roland of Asheville; and his grandsons, Shane and Chad Roland. Graveside services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with the Rev. Daniel Allen officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
