Asheville – Janney Asaleen Bishop Rogers, 99, went home to be with the Lord Friday, June 18, 2021 at Brookdale Senior Living. She was a native of Crewe, VA and has resided in Madison County since she was 6 years old and later moved to Buncombe County, a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church and former Bakery Manager at the Merrimon Avenue Ingles. Mrs. Rogers was a daughter of the late Jess Andrew Bishop and Bertha Queen Rice Bishop and the wife of Harold Richard Rogers who died October 17, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Surviving are her sons, Richard M. Rogers and wife, Susan of Asheville and Gary M. Rogers and wife, Linda of Hendersonville; grand-daughters, Jennifer Rogers Rendon and husband, Lee, Stefanie Rogers Adams and husband, Bryan and Lauren Rogers Hopkins and husband, Mayes; great grand children, Colton and Bryant Rendon, Addison and Reagan Adams and Henry Hopkins; sister in law, Lucille Bishop of Wadesboro and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11am Wednesday, June 23, 2021 in the chapel of Anders-Rice with the Rev. Roy McPeters officiating. Burial will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Mrs. Rogers’ family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Lucian Rice for his 45 years of loving and caring attention.
