Arthur Jiannine

ARDEN -Arthur Donato Jiannine, age 91, died August 25, 2010 at Memorial Mission Hospital, Asheville, N.C. following a brief illness. Mr. Jiannine was born February 5, 1919 in Red Bank, NJ., the son of Phillip and Minnie Thorne Jiannine. He graduated from Red Bank High School and was a active member of the First Baptist Church of Red Bank. He graduated from Rutgers University in 1942, with a degree in chemical engineering. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy, during World War II. Following his discharge, he was employed by Merck , Sharp and Dome, in Rahway, NJ and later in Riverside, PA. He moved to Florida in 1964, first to North Palm Beach and later Indiatlantic, where he was employed by Harris Semiconductors. Mr. Jiannine relocated to Arden in 2007, where he enjoyed attending numerous local events and activities. Mr. Jiannine was proud of his Italian heritage and a member of several Italian-American organizations. He was a Master Mason with the Navesink Lodge #9, F. & A.M. in Red Bank, NJ. Mr. Jiannine was preceded in death by his wife, June K. Jiannine, a brother, Philip Jiannine, and two sisters, Marion Jiannine and Alma Jiannine Sawyer. He is survived by a daughter, Kyleen Jiannine of Paden City, WV, and two sons, Louis Jiannine of Palm Bay, FL, and Victor Jiannine of Asheville. He leaves four grandchildren, Jason Hoffmann, Matthew Hoffmann, Gina Hoffmann Johnson, and Lia Jiannine, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle and will be greatly missed by his family. Funeral arrangements will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any remembrances be made to the First Baptist Church of Red Bank, NJ, 84 Maple Ave. Red Bank,NJ, 07701.
