Enka - Ansel Millard Levi of 17 Oak Street died Friday, December 28, 2001 at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center. A native of Greenville, S.C. He had resided in Asheville for most of his life. Mr. Levi retired after 40 years of service with American Enka Corp. where he was an electrician. He was a member of Enka Baptist Church, a World War I I veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the Pacific Theater, a graduate of Cecils Business College, Active in the Eastern Star, Chapter # 2 where he served as Worthy Patron, member of Mt. Herman Masonic Lodge # 118 where he was a former master of the lodge and was a member and Past President of the Golden K Kiwanis Club. He was a son of the late David Marion and Victoria Southern Levi and also preceded in death by his sisters, Louise Jarrett, Orinne Stuman and Nina Edwards and brothers, Loyd Levi and David Levi. Surviving are his wife, Annie Ray Nicholson Levi of the home; son, Michael A. Levi of Washington, D.C.; grand daughter, Kimberly Levi of Washington, D.C.; sister, Allene Watts of Chattanooga, Tennessee; brother, Lawrence Levi of Asheville. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Calvary Churchyard in Fletcher with the Rev. Ron Brown officiating. Military services will follow conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
