Annie Sue Lillard

December 11, 1933 — March 4, 2005

Asheville - Annie Sue Lillard, 71, of 539 Deaverview Road, died Friday, March 4, 2005 at Mountain Area Hospice following a long illness. A native of Haywood County, Mrs. Lillard resided in Buncombe County since 1956. She was formerly employed in patient services at St. Josephs Hospital and a member of Sunrise Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late J. E. Gibson and Helen Goodson Gibson. She was also preceded in death by her brother, James H. Gibson; sister, Betty Elizabeth Gibson; Brothers-in-law, Emmett and James Lillard; sister-in-law, Jessie Stepp. Surviving are her husband, John Paul Lillard of the home; sisters, Emma Jo Gibson and Charlotte Baldwin, both of Clyde, Jackie Warren of Bethel and Margaret Ann Bozarth of Waynesville; brother, Jerry B. Gibson of Waynesville; Brother-in-law, Aud Lillard and his wife, Juanita of Georgia; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Minister Jim McMillan officiating. Burial will be in Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park, Waynesville. The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm Monday at the funeral home.
