Asheville - Annie Mae Bowman-Wooten, 76, of 9 Bowman Drive went to be with her Lord Sunday, April 10, 2011 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Danville, VA. She had resided in Buncombe County since 1944 and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where she ministered in the Welcome Center. Mrs. Bowman-Wooten was the daughter of the late John Morgan Russ and Ocie Viola Hollifield Russ. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Russ and George Russ and sisters, Edna McKinney and Pauline King. Surviving are her husband, Billy Arthur Wooten, whom she married April 14, 2006, of the home; daughters, June Bowman Lane and husband, John of Asheville, Mitzi Bowman Wade and husband Larry of Leicester; step sons, Donald Wooten of Leicester, Billy Arthur Wooten, Jr. of Enka, Marcus Keith Wooten of Leicester and Jeffery Allen Wooten of Skyland; step daughter, Billie Ann Hawkins and husband Danny of Enka; 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Ralph Sexton, Jr. and Rev. Jerry Young officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friend 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
