Ann Jones

Asheville - Virginia Ann Rogers Jones, 65, of 19 Allen Street passed away Saturday, February 28, 2009 at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She was a homemaker and member of Gospel Chapel and Old Buncombe County Geneological Society & Library and was a 1962 graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School where she was a member of the National Torchlight Society, Latin Club and Tri-Sci Club. Mrs. Jones was a daughter of the late Clyde Charles Rogers, Sr. and Meta Towe Rogers. She was also preceded in death by her son, Tommy Jones. Surviving are her husband, Thomas Edward Tom Jones, whom she married June 2, 1964, of the home; daughters, Melanie Caroline Jones and Alison Rebecca Jones both of Asheville; sons, Captain Court Allen Jones, USMC, stationed in Hawaii; Charles Edward Jones of Asheville; sisters, Mary Toner of Australia, Sally Warren and Dixie Corn both of Asheville; brothers, Clyde Rogers, Jr. and Joe Rogers both of Asheville; grandchildren, Katie Jones, Robyn Huffman, Sara Huffman, Patty Jones, Frank Jones, Rylee Jones and Damon Jones; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held 3 P.M. Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Cliff Franks officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the funeral home.
