Amelia Colagerakis Candler

ASHEVILLE - Amelia Colagerakis Candler, 86, formerly of 70 Rumbough Place passed away Sunday November 29, 2009 at The Oaks of Sweeten Creek. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. She was the daughter of the late Lucas Xedes Colagerakis and Bessie Spirakis Colagerakis; the wife of the late James Ernest Candler and sister of the late Eva Cledaras, Jimmy Colagerakis and Steve Colagerakis. Surviving are her children, Mary Tootie Hursey of New Albany, OH, Judy Wooten Romine and husband Danny of Pataskala, OH, Jimmy D. Wooten of Asheville and James T. Tommy Candler of Hendersonville; brother, Gus Colagerakis and wife Shirley of Asheville and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with Fr. Demetrios Iliou officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
