Alma Dessie Duyck Buckner

March 3, 1919 — June 16, 2003

Weaverville - Alma Dessie Duyck Buckner, 84, of 72 Old Mars Hill Hwy. died Monday, June 16, 2003 at her residence. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was an active member for 34 years of Coles Cove Independent Baptist Church. Mrs. Buckner was the daughter of the late Oscar Willard and Martha Jane Rice Duyck and was the wife of the late Auburn Roy Buckner who died in 1999. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Duyck, and a brother, James Duyck. Surviving are her sister, Agnes Revis of Weaverville; brothers, Harold C. Duyck of Asheville, Paul R. Duyck of Weaverville, and Ronnie W. Duyck of Arden; nine nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday at Coles Cove Independent Baptist Church with the Revs. Don Burchette and Kenny E. Ray, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 PM Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
