Weaverville - Alice Teresa Roberts Eller, 86, of Weaverville, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at the Brian Center in Weaverville following a period of declining health. Alice was born in Buncombe County on January 23, 1920 to the late John and Eva Parker Roberts, and was the widow of Joseph Roy Eller, who passed away in April, 2000. She was also preceded in death by a son, Joe; three brothers: Talmadge, Arnold, and Herbert Roberts; and a sister, Ella Mae Black. Alice was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was very loyal to her family and friends. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and activities involving her extended family. She was a devoted Christian who served in various capacities in Baptist churches throughout her life. Surviving are her son, Bill Eller and wife Debra, grandson, Mitchell Eller, and granddaughter, Misty Eller, all of Weaverville; and brothers: Hugh Roberts of Asheville and Donald Roberts of Weaverville. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Chris Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and at other times at the home of her son, Bill Eller, 192 Flat Creek Church Road, Weaverville. The family would like to express their appreciation for the excellent care and love extended to Alice at the Mars Hill Retirement Community and the Brian Center of Weaverville. Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to Flat Creek Baptist Church, 21 Flat Creek Road, Weaverville, NC 28787, where she was a member.
