Asheville Aleen Victoria Rhodes Ramsey, 90, of 5 Victory Lane passed away Monday, October 2, 2006 at John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center following a short illness. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County and a daughter of the late Thomas Edward Rhodes and Allie Belle Rhymer Rhodes. She was the wife of Clement William Ramsey who died in 1999. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Trudy Ramsey Penland and her son, Bill Ramsey. Mrs. Ramsey was a charter member of Victory Baptist Church where she was a member and former secretary of the Kingdom Seekers S.S. Class, former teacher of the Sunbeams S.S. Class, former member of the church choir and helped in Bible School when her children were small. She was an avid and good craftmaker. Surviving are her daughter, Nancy Ramsey Freeman and husband, Bob of Asheville; daughter in law, JoAnn Ramsey of Leicester; grandsons, Ricky Ramsey and Keith Freeman and wife, Renee all of Asheville; great grand daughter, Brittany Freeman of Asheville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Victory Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Sprinkle and Rev. John Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
