Alberta Long

Fairview - Alberta Mae Hudgins Long, 100, of 1194 Upper Brush Creek Road died Sunday February 1, 2009 at Fleshers of Fairview after a period of declining health. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. She was a daughter of the late James H. and Verna Mae Hudgins and the wife of the late Lonnie V. Long. She was also preceded in death by brothers, James and Robert Hudgins and sisters, Lucy Nesbitt and Martha Hudgins. Surviving are her son Kenneth Long; sister, Mildred Massey; sister-in-law, Ora Hudgins; great grandsons, Cody and Corey Hudson all of Fairview and 3 nieces and 2 nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at Bethany United Methodist Church with the Revs. H.D. Houck and Glenda Bramlet officiating. Burial will be in the Bethany UMC Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at the church.
