Albert Leroy Sharpe

Leicester - Albert Leroy Sharpe, 72, of 63 Solomon Rd. died Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at Mission St. Josephs Health System. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a veteran of the US Marine Corp and was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Sharpe was the son of the late Al and Ruth Ledford Sharpe. He was also preceded in death by his son, Albert Leroy Sharpe, II who died in 1994. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Joanne Pressley Sharpe of the home; daughters, Joanna Michelle Sharpe Bartlett and husband Brian of Black Mtn. and Sheila Allen of Asheville; grandchildren, Seth and Jared Bartlett, Cameron Alden Sharpe, Troy and Justin Allen; step grandchildren, Thomas, Louis, Dominick and Daniel Diodato, Lane Hepburn, Joshua Swann and Heather Swann; sister, Bertha Geneva Ledwell of Asheville; brother, Wayne Sharpe of Asheville. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Saturday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 PM Saturday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
