Leicester - Adrian Joel “AJ” Fox, 62, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, April 3, 2022. AJ was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County. He retired in 2011 following 30 years of service with the NCSHP. He then joined the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Department where he served as the first School Resource Officer. He also served with Haywood County Sheriff’s Department and with the town of Lake Lure Police Department where he started the motorcycle patrol. He was a faithful member of Brookstone Church where he served as head of security. He also was dedicated to “The Man Cave” ministry where he served faithfully. His love for the Lord shown through his dedication and drive to do right and serve the members in his community. This same drive lead him to announce his run for Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office for 2022. He was the son of the late Robert and Pauline King Fox, and was also preceded in death by his son, Cody Day. Surviving are his loving wife, Jeannie Lee Fox of the home; daughter, Aspen Fox of the home; son, Justin Fox and wife, Angie of Cramerton; brothers, Mark and Stacy Fox both of Asheville; mother-in-law, Nancy Day of the home, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Brookstone Church, 90 Griffee Road in Weaverville, with Pastor Jim Dykes and Rev. Chip Plemmons officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:45 PM Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: “The Man Cave” Ministry, 206 Old Home Rd, Asheville, NC 28804 or Hargrave Military Academy, 200 Military Drive, Chatham VA, 24531. We find peace in knowing this isn’t goodbye, but we’ll see you soon at the gates of Heaven, where we will find him running security.
