Agnes Gentry Ellison

Candler – Agnes Charlotte Gentry Ellison, 91, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 23, 2021 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Hospice Center. A native of Newport, TN she had resided in Buncombe County most of her life. Mrs. Ellison was formerly employed with American Enka for over 20 years and attended Maple Ridge Baptist Church in Candler. She was a daughter of the late Arthur Azberry Gentry and Tiny Jane Butler Gentry. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Kimberly Ellison, daughter, Donnie Juanita Ellison and 9 siblings. Surviving are her children, Ralph Ellison (Vickey) of Ohatchee, AL, Hettie Buckner (James) of Asheville and David Ellison (Rebecca) of Chesapeake, VA; grandchildren, David, Anthony, Monica, Lori, Heather, Sarah and Dustin; 14 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter on the way; several nieces and nephews and her 3 special traveling buddies, Annette, Kelly and Melody. Graveside services will be held 2pm Monday, July 26, 2021 at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with Rev. Steve Fox and Joe Belcher officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30pm Monday, July 26, 2021 at the Anders-Rice Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff and caregivers at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center for the love and support given to our family.
