Aaron "Joe" Holcombe

September 4, 1939 — May 18, 2021

Aaron Barnard “Joe” Holcombe, 81, formerly of Barnardsville and Weaverville, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Mission Hospital. Aaron was born in Gainesville, GA to the late John T. Holcombe and Thelma P. Welchel Holcombe. He will be missed by his loyal, faithful loving dog, a Pekingese, Buddy. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Helen Martin Holcombe, daughter, Shirley Morris and husband Ron of Asheville; three grandkids: Thomas Morris of Asheville, Kim Morris of South Carolina, and Ron Morris, Jr. of Utah; nieces: Patricia Martin of Asheville and Angela Pearson of Tennessee; and nephews: Randall Quinn of Tennessee and Anthony Martin of Barnardsville. He also had numerous friends in the Asheville area. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 2, 2021 in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family to assist with final expenses.
