Zelphia Rathbone

Leicester - Zelphia Rosealee Freeman Rathbone, 89, passed away Friday May 14, 2010 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Swain County, she had lived in Buncombe County since 1950. She was a daughter of the late Lee and Eva Mae Mashburn Freeman and the wife of the late Shuford Rathbone. Surviving are her sons, Warren Rathbone and wife Brenda, Roy Rathbone and wife Kathy all of Leicester; daughter, Cynthia Burleson of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Imogene Gilstrap of Pickens, SC and Della Banks of Bryson City; brothers, Lon Freeman of Bryson City and Lance Freeman of Pickens, SC; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Larry Collins officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: John F.
