Wilma Roach

Candler - Wilma E. Roach, 74, of Candler, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at the Brian Center Healthcare Center in Brevard. A native of Buncombe County, she had resided in Rockford, IL before returning to Buncombe County in 1973. She attended Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Mrs. Roach was the daughter of the late Ernest and Margaret Towe Arrington, and the wife of David Lowell Roach, who passed away December 27, 2012. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Mittelsteadt, and brother, Leroy Arrington. Surviving are her son, Darrin Roach, of Candler; sisters: Virginia Odette of Swannanoa, and Mildred Rogers of Rockford, IL; brother, Fred Arrington of Candler; sisters-in-law: Shirley Roach of Missouri and Evelyn Roach of Rockford; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Stan Welch officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
