Willie Hazel Maynard Myers

Asheville/Weaverville - Willie Hazel Maynard Myers, 80, of 1963 Riverside Drive, Asheville and formerly of 11 Pine St. , Weaverville, died Saturday August 11, 2007 at Memorial Mission Hospital. She was born in Yancey County on October 19, 1926, was a resident of Buncombe County and retired from Shaw Industries. She was a daughter of the late James Clyde Maynard, Sr. and Rena Delno Renfro Maynard. She was the wife of the late Paul Myers, Sr. who died December 2, 2000 and was also preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Schindell. Surviving are her children; Janiet Lee Myers Harwood and husband Terry Michael of Asheville, Brenda Kay Myers and companion Dean Franklin of Woodfin and Paul Clyde Myers, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Vinton. LA; grandchildren, Lydia Harwood Freck and husband Rusty, Amber Myers Burton and husband Lawrence, Christopher Adam Blankenship, Daniel Aaron Blankenship and wife Tamara, Steven Alan Roberts, Paul Clyde Myers III and Timothy David Harwood; great grandchildren, Cody, Austin, Logan, Christian, Devin, Autumn, Winter and Abigail; step great grandchildren, Brandi, Dustin and Samantha; step great great granddaughter, Akaleia; sisters, Mildred Hensley and husband Oscar, Shirley Ray, Faye Gunn all of Weaverville and Louise Rogers and husband Rev. Troy Rogers of Mars Hill; brothers, J. C. Maynard, Jr. of Weaverville, D.L. Maynard and wife Winnie of Asheville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Troy Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M.
