Willie Farmer Harvey

Swannanoa - Mrs. Willie Farmer Harvey of Swannanoa NC passed away peacefully to be with her Lord Wednesday March 23, 2005 at a local care facility. She was born April 12, 1917 in Bobtown, KY to the late Mrs. Nina H. Turpen and Mr. Mr. J.B. Turpen. She was a retired school teacher and homemaker. She was preceded in death by two husbands: William Sanford Farmer and Colman F. Harvey, both longtime employees of Norfolk Southern Railway Company, and also by a beloved niece, Mrs. Carolyn Strunk. She is survived by two daughters; Mrs. Sandy Goble and husband Ken of Brevard, and Mrs. Jane Lovin and husband Buddy of Swannannoa; a sister, Mrs. Marie T. Copeland of Chattanooga TN, two great nieces, two great great nieces and a great great nephew. She is also survived by her special friend, helpmate,and Sister in Christ, Mrs. Dorothy Miller as well as her confidante and encourager, Mrs. Ruth Howard. A memorial service will be held 10 am Saturday, March, 26, 2005 at Reed Memorial Baptist Church in Asheville, NC with the Rev. Randy Melton officiating. A graveside service will be held 3 pm Saturday at Stephens Memorial Gardens in Toccoa GA, where Mrs. Harvey will be interred beside Mr. Farmer. In lieu of flowers the family requests gifts be made to the Gideon Bible Program.
