William Lee Isgett

August 14, 1927 — February 14, 2005

Asheville - William Lee Isgett, 77, of 10 Greenleaf Circle, died Monday, February 14, 2005 at the Laurels of Greentree Ridge following a period of declining health. A native of Cheraw, SC, he had resided in Asheville since 1961. He was the former owner of Walls and Marshall Fuel Oil Company and Isgett Distributors. Mr. Isgett was a member of the First Baptist Church of Asheville and a US Navy veteran of World War II. He was a former member of the Asheville Kiwanis Club and the National Accountants Association. He was the son of the late Oscar Lee and Ada Irene Hall Isgett. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Marguerite Creech Isgett of the home; his daughter, Sharon McMurry and husband Patrick of Arden; two sons: Stephen Isgett and wife Tammie of Fletcher and Scott Isgett of Taylors, SC; his sister, Frances Matheson and husband William of Asheville; his brother, Perry Isgett of Cheraw; four grandsons: Tyler and Timmie Isgett, Noah McMurry, and Thomas Isgett; a niece and four nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Eddie Morgan and the Rev. Donna Painter officiating. Burial will be in the Lewis Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
