William J. West, Iii

Asheville - William J. West, III, 76, of Asheville, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at The Laurels of Green Tree Ridge. He was a native of Madison County and had lived in Buncombe County most of his life. He was the son of the late William and Frances Rice West and husband of the late Betty Sue West. William was an U.S. Army Veteran. Surviving are his sons, Jerry and Mike West, grandchildren, Christopher, Lauren and Heather West, great grandchildren, Christopher Jr., Daniel, Haven, Will, Jackson and Gauge. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, August 5 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Rev. Carson Moseley officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Thursday, August 4 at the funeral home.
