William Ernest "Frank" Parker

William Ernest Parker, 88, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016 at his residence. A native of Yancey County he resided in Buncombe County most of his life. He was the son of the late William Linzey Parker and Sally Mae Metcalf Parker. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Clark Parker; son, Johnny Parker; 3 sisters, and a brother. William was a great father, grandfather, and brother, he will be greatly missed. Surviving are his daughters: Peggy Parker of Asheville, Sandra Parker Pledger and husband Steve of Spartanburg, SC, and Brenda Parker McClure of Asheville; sisters: Rose Waldrop of Candler, Margaret Teague and husband Chester of Marshall, Barbara Parker of Marion, and Brenda Jones and husband Johnny of Asheville; grandchildren: Staci and husband Terry, Wendy and husband Andy, Christy and husband Bobby, Justus, David, and Trisha; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, November 29, 2016 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Keith Hutchinson officiating. Burial will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends on Tuesday for 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home.
